Building for the future
When The Silvi Group, one of the region’s leading concrete companies, planned to expand their Headquarters to support the growth of their company, they selected H.C. Pody to complete the construction. The 3-phase project included renovations to 10,000 sf of existing offices and the addition of 9,000 sf of new offices. The work required construction of a 3rd story to the existing facility, as well as a horizontal expansion.
Ensuring Quality
The team at Pody understood that this was an important project for Silvi, and they depended on the Pody Team to deliver a project they can be proud of for years to come.
The design called for extensive custom millwork, glass walls, custom ceilings, and field stone to match the existing building facade.
An important part of the project was to engage the right subcontractors to complete this work. “The tradesmen on the high-end finish work must have pride in the final product, and we worked hard to get good craftsmen on this project and it shows in the quality of the work”, says Hugh Pody, President.
Ensuring Safety
One of the most important aspects of the project was the requirment to keep Silvi operational and safe throuoghout the construction. The Pody Team scheduled the work in phases, and planned major structural and HVAC work during the weekends to ensure minimal disruption of Silvi’s operations during the construction.
The Pody Team developed a detailed phasing plan, and used specialized construction methods to meet the project requjirements. For example, the Team used special rigging for the rooftop HVAC equipment to eliminate the need for a crane on the project site. This allowed the team to keep a second entrance to the building open throughout the construction and to ensure a safe enviounment for the employees.

We wanted the headquarters to reflect the future of Silvi with a modern, clean aesthetic – but have a look that honored their brand and business. We achieved this simple but sharp design with the use of a variety of natural finishes.
Understanding how to handle these materials, such as the stone and wood details, required not only mastery of craft, but also mastery of the project oversight. So, having a builder with a dependable QA/QC process was very important. Pody handled this beautifully.
