18,600 SF renovations to create 8 retail spaces on the ground floor of this historical apartment building. A new 2,000 amp electrical service was also installed for the entire building.
The historic residential development, built in 1901, was one of the first apartment complexes built in Philadelphia, as a swanky U-shaped building with an inner courtyard and fountain. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The design of the retail space calls for new, large storefront windows on the first floor of the 8-story masonry building. To complete the construction, building protection and large needle beams had to be installed before the masonry could be cut for the new windows.
